I voted NO on SB 57 & 58 (Sen. Chang & Bellino) Would amend the Public Health Code to prohibit the sale of an object specifically designed for the inhaling of nitrous oxide for recreational purposes.

EXPLANATION: It is not the government’s job to hold everyone’s hand through all the life decisions
they make.

SB 57 PASSED 87-18, SB 58 PASSED 88-17

I voted YES on HB 5151 (Rep. Shannon) Designates a portion of M-53 as the “Officer Leroy Imus Memorial Highway.”

EXPLANATION: Leroy Imus was a U.S. Navy Veteran, a decorated and well
liked Sterling Heights Police Officer, as well as a family man. Officer Imus died at 32 when he was struck by a vehicle in the line of duty, he is survived by a wife and four children.

Wednesday, February 28th, 2024

I voted NO on HB 4279 (Rep.VanderWall) Would allow intermediate school districts (ISDs) to contract with other ISDs to operate their Career and Technical Education (CTE) program.

EXPLANATION:
This will invariably lead to more mills levied and the district residents will end up paying more for government education.

PASSED: 100-6

Thursday, February 29th, 2024

I voted YES on HB 4011 (Rep. Neyer) Reduces Penalty for Family Farms in Reporting Certain MIOSHA Violations.

EXPLANATION: Grieving families should not be expected to think first of what the government demands of them.

PASSED 93-13
