RELEASE|February 6, 2024
Contact: Andrew Fink

State Rep. Andrew Fink (R-Adams Township) issued the following statement calling on the federal government to fully enforce U.S. immigration laws:

“As a legislator in a border state, I understand the importance of patrolling our border and closely monitoring what is allowed to cross it. It is imperative that we work to ensure the safety and security of our citizens and the law and order of our country.

“Enforcing these policies is crucial for preventing illegal activities such as human trafficking and drug smuggling. This is a true matter of national security and fairness to those who follow the legal immigration process.

“I stand in firm support of Gov. Abbott’s commitment to protecting his state from invasions, and I urge our national leaders to follow suit and uphold the rule of law that protects our country’s interests.”

Rep. Fink introduced legislation in 2022 banning sanctuary cities in the state of Michigan. That same year, he also supported a House resolution urging President Biden to enforce the country’s immigration laws and strengthen border protection to prioritize law-abiding American citizens.
