Rep. Mueller: Evenly divided Michigan House is opportunity for bipartisan collaboration
RELEASE|February 5, 2024
Contact: Mike Mueller

State Rep. Mike Mueller said a unique balance of power in the Michigan House of Representatives presents an opportunity for legislators to work together on common-sense solutions to the concerns all Michigan families share.

Last November, two Democrat state representatives were elected to other public service positions, meaning the Michigan House is made up of an equal split of 54 Republicans and 54 Democrats until special elections are held in April to fill the vacant seats.

“I’ve never been one for partisan games,” said Mueller, R-Linden. “As your state representative, my focus has always been on finding practical solutions that make life better for the people I represent. The even split in the House is a unique chance for legislators to embrace bipartisan collaboration and work together to move our state in the right direction.”

Mueller sees opportunities for bipartisan collaboration on legislation to improve school safety, support law enforcement, and make life more affordable for Michigan families.
