RELEASE|January 18, 2024

State Rep. Kathy Schmaltz and the Michigan House of Representatives on Wednesday recognized the service of former state Rep. Clark Bisbee, who served the Jackson area in the House from 1999 to 2004. Bisbee passed away on March 27, 2023.

The House adopted a memorial resolution in Bisbee’s honor and Schmaltz presented his wife Katie with a tribute and a flag that was flown over the state Capitol.

“Clark will be remembered as a dedicated and selfless public servant who represented the constituents of the 64th district with honor and respect,” Schmaltz said. “I knew Clark personally and he was a great friend, mentor, and leader. He was quick to offer advice and encouragement and was always there for those who needed him. Clark loved serving in the Legislature. He wanted to help people and he did.”

Clark is survived by his wife and four children Casey, Megan, Leland IV, and Peter, along with three siblings and seven grandchildren.
